CBGB's - CBGB's And The Birth Of U.S. Punk.

this is a truly awesome collection of us punk and garage from the 60s to the late 70s,stand out tracks for me are the velvets the sonics the seeds and pere ubu,these guys where playing some groundbreaking stuff all those years ago and have had a giant affect on a lot of music that ive listened to over the years

    I remember seeing Tom Verlaine in the Television era back in 77 (at least I think it was that year) at Manchester Free Trade Hall, Blondie were the support, before they went powder pop. Also got to see Johnny Thunders and Jerry Nolan aka Heartbreakers at Rafters Night Club on Oxford Road, TERRIFIC STUFF. Also recollect Iggy at The Apollo with Bowie on keyboards (The Idiot period, think they were just back from Berlin). Some good stuff written about Iggy in Nick Kents latest book.
